14 March 2016 (Monday): Corps Commanders Conference was held here today at GHQ. General Raheel Sharif, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) presided over the meeting. While speaking at the forum COAS expressed his complete satisfaction over the progress of ongoing operation in Shawwal and adjoining areas in North Waziristan Agency. COAS emphasized , as we move towards conclusion of large scale kinetic operation in FATA, there is a need to look ahead and consolidate the gains for long term stability. He directed more effective border management and continued proactive dominance of the cleared areas to maintain writ of the state in FATA .
